Scope and Publication Frequency

CHIMIA, a scientific journal for chemistry in the broadest sense covers the interests of a wide and diverse readership. Contributions from all fields of chemistry and related areas are considered for publication in the form of Review Articles and Notes. A characteristic feature of CHIMIA are the thematic issues, each devoted to an area of great current significance.

CHIMIA is published 10 times a year and is listed in the most important databases: Current Contents/Physical, Chemical and Earth Sciences, Chemical Abstracts, Science Citation Index, Research Alert, Scisearch, Index Chemicus, Chemistry Citation Index, Current Chemical Reactions, Reaction Citation Index, and Biological Abstracts.


Open Access

Authors may post their own published articles in the internet under the following conditions:

a) Posting is allowed on the author’s personal website and/or in non-profit and non-commercial repositories of the author’s institution and/or funding body.

b) Immediate release to open access is available upon payment of the full production costs of the article. Otherwise public availability of posted articles must be delayed until 12 months after print publication in the journal.

c) Copyright and source must be acknowledged the following way: ‘Copyright ©Swiss Chemical Society: CHIMIA, volume, page, and year, doi’.

d) The publisher’s version of pdf must be used. The pdf documents are available at – free of charge for members of the Swiss Chemical Society.
